Madame Sherri : a collection of photographs, essays, and newspaper articles, 1989.

Photographs, essays, and newspaper articles, compiled by Mitchell, relating to Madame Sherri, originally a music hall singer in Paris, who relocated to the U.S., with her husband Andre Riela in 1911. The two became theatrical costume designers in New York and were summer residents of West Chesterfield, N.H., near Brattleboro, Vt. Madame Sherri was famous for her parties and entertaining in her home in West Chesterfield, a stone castle which was eventually destroyed by fire in the early 1960s. She later moved to a nursing home and died in Brattleboro in 1965.
